Description

A warm and comforting tuna melt sandwich with a creamy tuna filling, melted cheese, and crispy golden bread.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread (sourdough or sandwich bread)
  • 1 can (150g) tuna, drained
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons celery, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 slices cheese (cheddar or Swiss)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix tuna, mayonnaise, celery, red onion, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Spread butter or drizzle olive oil on the outside of each bread slice.
  3. Place the tuna mixture on two slices of bread and top each with a slice of cheese.
  4. Cover with the remaining bread slices to form sandwiches.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sandwiches until the bread is golden and crispy and the cheese is melted, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  6. Flip and cook the other side until evenly toasted.
  7. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use cheddar or Swiss cheese for best melting.
  • Drain tuna well to avoid sogginess.
  • Add tomato slices or pickles for extra flavor.
  • Substitute Greek yogurt for a lighter version.
