Description

This Spicy Garlic Butter Tilapia Bowl is a flavorful and quick dish featuring tender tilapia fillets cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce with a kick of red pepper flakes. Enhanced with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon juice, it’s perfect for busy weeknights when you want a delicious, satisfying meal in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Seafood

  • 4 fillets tilapia

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Seasonings

  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 1/4 cup unsalted butter until fully melted and beginning to bubble gently.
  2. Cook the garlic and spices. Add 4 cloves minced garlic and 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes to the melted butter, stirring frequently for 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not browned, allowing the flavors to infuse.
  3. Season the tilapia. Pat the 4 fillets of tilapia dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Cook the tilapia fillets. Place the seasoned tilapia fillets into the skillet with the garlic butter sauce, cooking for 4-5 minutes on each side over medium heat. Cook until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Add finishing touches. Once cooked, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the tilapia fillets for brightness, and sprinkle with 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for best flavor.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes according to desired spice level.
  • Serve with rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Ensure not to overcook the tilapia to keep it moist and flaky.
  • Butter can be substituted with olive oil for a lighter option.
