Description

A rich and comforting sandwich made with tender BBQ brisket, melted cheese, and crispy toasted bread for the ultimate smoky and cheesy bite.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked brisket, sliced or shredded
  • 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
  • 46 slices bread or 23 sandwich rolls
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup cheddar or provolone cheese, sliced or shredded
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • Pickles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Warm the brisket in a pan with BBQ sauce until heated through and well coated.
  2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.
  3. On the unbuttered side, layer cheese, BBQ brisket, red onions, and more cheese.
  4. Top with another slice of bread, buttered side facing out.
  5. Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the sandwich until golden and crispy, pressing gently.
  6. Flip and cook the other side until the cheese is fully melted.
  7. Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then slice and serve.
  8. Add pickles if desired and enjoy warm.

Notes

  • Use sturdy bread like sourdough for best results.
  • Avoid too much sauce to prevent sogginess.
  • Add jalapeños for a spicy kick.
  • Caramelized onions can enhance sweetness and flavor.
  • Reheat brisket separately before assembling for best texture.
