Description

Flavor-packed spicy honey-ginger chicken bowls featuring tender chicken coated in a sweet, savory, and slightly spicy glaze, served with rice or noodles and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 500g chicken breast or thighs, cut into pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 12 tablespoons sriracha or chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups cooked rice or noodles
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (broccoli, carrots, bell peppers)

Instructions

  1. Season chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sriracha to make the sauce.
  3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and cook chicken until golden and fully cooked.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and let it simmer for a few minutes.
  5. If desired, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the pan to thicken the sauce.
  6. Cook until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken evenly.
  7. Prepare rice or noodles and lightly cook the vegetables.
  8. Assemble bowls with rice or noodles, top with chicken and vegetables.
  9. Drizzle extra sauce over the top and serve.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by increasing or reducing sriracha.
  • Use tamari or gluten-free soy sauce for a gluten-free option.
  • Add sesame seeds or chopped peanuts for extra crunch.
  • Swap chicken with tofu or shrimp for variation.
  • Store sauce separately if meal prepping for best texture.
