Description

A simple yet elegant appetizer featuring crispy toasted bread topped with creamy goat cheese, fresh fruit, and a drizzle of honey for a perfect balance of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 baguette or crusty bread, sliced
  • 200g goat cheese
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 12 cups fresh fruit (strawberries, figs, peaches, or blueberries)
  • 12 tbsp fresh herbs (mint or thyme)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) or heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Slice the baguette into thin pieces and brush each slice lightly with olive oil.
  3. Toast the bread slices in the oven for 8–10 minutes or in a skillet until golden and crisp.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Spread a layer of goat cheese evenly over each toasted slice.
  6. Top with fresh fruit, arranging neatly.
  7. Drizzle honey over each crostini.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs.
  9. Serve immediately while crisp and fresh.

Notes

  • Toast bread well to prevent sogginess.
  • Assemble just before serving for best texture.
  • Add nuts like walnuts or almonds for extra crunch.
  • Try balsamic glaze for a savory twist.
  • Substitute goat cheese with ricotta or cream cheese if preferred.
