Description

Deliciously creamy Chicken Alfredo Stuffed Shells featuring large pasta shells filled with a savory mixture of shredded chicken, ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, and Italian seasoning, all baked in rich Alfredo sauce until bubbly and golden.

Ingredients

Shells and Filling

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 cup cooked chicken (shredded)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Sauce and Toppings

  • 2 cups Alfredo sauce (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (for topping)
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (for topping)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the stuffed shells.
  2. Cook Pasta Shells: Boil the pasta shells according to package instructions until al dente. Drain carefully and set aside to cool slightly.
  3. Prepare Filling: In a large bowl, combine shredded cooked chicken, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Assemble Dish: Spread 1 cup of Alfredo sauce evenly on the bottom of a baking dish to prevent sticking and add flavor.
  5. Stuff Shells: Fill each cooked pasta shell generously with the chicken and cheese mixture, then arrange the stuffed shells in the baking dish.
  6. Add Sauce and Cheese: Pour the remaining Alfredo sauce over the arranged shells in the dish. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly on top.
  7. Bake: Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese on top is melted, bubbly, and golden brown.
  8. Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the dish cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Use homemade Alfredo sauce for a richer flavor, or choose a quality store-bought version for convenience.
  • Ensure pasta shells are cooked al dente to avoid mushy texture after baking.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
  • For added flavor, sprinkle some crushed red pepper flakes or garlic powder in the filling.
  • Substitute chicken with cooked turkey or vegetarian alternatives if preferred.
