Description

These BBQ Chicken Flatbreads combine tender shredded chicken, smoky barbecue sauce, melted mozzarella cheese, and crispy flatbread for a quick and satisfying meal. Perfect for lunch, dinner, or party appetizers, they are easy to customize and packed with bold flavor.

Ingredients

  • 2 flatbreads or naan breads
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the shredded chicken with the barbecue sauce until evenly coated.
  3. Place the flatbreads on a baking sheet and brush them lightly with olive oil.
  4. Sprinkle a small layer of mozzarella cheese over each flatbread.
  5. Spread the BBQ chicken mixture evenly over the flatbreads.
  6. Top with the remaining mozzarella cheese and sliced red onion.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the edges are crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and finish with chopped cilantro, salt, and black pepper.
  9. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Rotisserie chicken works well for a faster preparation.
  • Smoked gouda or cheddar cheese can be substituted for mozzarella.
  • Add sliced jalapeños for extra heat.
  • Corn kernels add a touch of sweetness and texture.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for the crispiest texture.
  • A drizzle of ranch dressing pairs well with the smoky BBQ flavor.
