Description

A quick and delicious recipe for making perfectly toasted grilled cheese sandwiches using an air fryer. This method delivers crispy, buttery bread and melted cheese in just 15 minutes, ideal for a comforting snack or light meal.

Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 4 pieces sandwich bread
  • 4 slices cheese of choice (cheddar, American, Gouda, Havarti, provolone)
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Prepare the bread: Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of sandwich bread. This buttered side will be the outside of the sandwich to ensure a crispy, golden crust.
  2. Assemble the sandwich: Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, inside the air fryer basket. Layer two slices of your favorite cheese on top of the bread, then place another slice of bread on top with the buttered side facing up.
  3. Air fry the sandwich: Set the air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and cook the sandwich for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, carefully flip the sandwich over to ensure even toasting on both sides.
  4. Finish cooking: Continue air frying for another 5 minutes or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has fully melted. Remove the sandwich carefully and serve hot for best taste.

Notes

  • You can use any type of cheese that melts well – cheddar, American, Havarti, Gouda, or provolone work great.
  • Adjust cooking time slightly based on your air fryer model and how crispy you prefer your grilled cheese.
  • For a crispy exterior, make sure the butter is spread evenly and covers the entire bread surface.
  • To add extra flavor, consider adding tomato slices or cooked bacon inside the sandwich before air frying.
