Description

Ultimate Chicken Cheese Steak Sandwiches are loaded with juicy seasoned chicken, sautéed peppers and onions, and melty cheese inside toasted hoagie rolls. This comforting and flavorful sandwich is a quick, hearty meal perfect for any day.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1 bell pepper (any color), thinly sliced
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or paprika (optional)
  • 68 slices provolone cheese or 1 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 34 hoagie rolls or sandwich buns, toasted
  • Optional: mayonnaise, mustard, or hot sauce for spreading

Instructions

  1. Season chicken slices with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning or paprika.
  2. Heat half the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté peppers and onions until soft and caramelized, then set aside.
  3. Add remaining oil to the skillet and cook chicken until golden and cooked through, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Return peppers and onions to the pan and mix well.
  6. Reduce heat and layer cheese over the chicken mixture. Cover and let cheese melt.
  7. Toast hoagie rolls lightly, then spread with optional mayo, mustard, or hot sauce.
  8. Spoon cheesy chicken mixture into the rolls, press gently, and serve hot.
