Description

A simple and reliable method for cooking juicy, tender chicken breast with a golden, flavorful crust and perfectly moist interior every time.

Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano or thyme

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If thick, pound them to an even thickness.
  2. Rub the chicken with olive oil, then season both sides with garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried herbs.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a small amount of oil if needed.
  4. Place the chicken in the hot skillet and cook undisturbed for 5–6 minutes until a golden crust forms.
  5. Flip the chicken and cook for another 5–6 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Remove from the pan and let rest for 5 minutes before slicing to retain juices.

Notes

  • Pounding the chicken ensures even cooking.
  • Add a squeeze of lemon juice for brightness.
  • Use smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.
  • Marinating beforehand can increase tenderness and flavor.
  • A small knob of butter at the end adds richness.
