Description
Tater Tot Appetizer Cups are crispy, cheesy, bite-sized snacks made by pressing tater tots into mini muffin tins and filling them with savory toppings. They’re crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and perfect for parties, game days, or fun finger food.
Ingredients
- 72 frozen tater tots (about 3 per muffin cup)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup sour cream
- 2 tbsp green onions or chives, chopped
- Nonstick cooking spray
- Optional: ranch dressing, jalapeños, hot sauce, salsa, or other toppings
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F and spray a mini muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place 3 frozen tater tots into each muffin cup and bake for 10 minutes.
- Remove from oven and use the back of a spoon or shot glass to press tots into the bottom and sides of each cup, forming nests.
- Return to oven and bake for another 10–15 minutes, until golden and crisp.
- Immediately sprinkle shredded cheese into each hot cup.
- Let cool slightly, then top with sour cream and green onions before serving.
Notes
- Best served hot and crispy right out of the oven.
- Customize with taco toppings, BBQ pulled pork, or vegetarian fillings.
- Make-ahead tip: bake cups and add toppings later just before serving.
- Reheat in oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.
