Description
Taco Bell Mexican Pizza is a homemade take on the fast-food favorite, layering seasoned beef, refried beans, crispy tortillas, melty cheese, and fresh toppings into a fun and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp taco seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
- 8 small flour tortillas (6–8 inches)
- 1 cup enchilada sauce or taco sauce
- 1.5 cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
- 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 2 green onions, chopped
- Oil for frying or brushing tortillas
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add taco seasoning and water to beef, stir, and simmer until thickened. Set aside.
- In a small pot, warm refried beans until soft and spreadable.
- Fry tortillas in a little oil or brush with oil and bake until golden and crisp on both sides. You can also air-fry at 375°F for 3–4 minutes per side.
- To assemble, spread refried beans on one crisp tortilla. Add a layer of seasoned beef.
- Top with another crisp tortilla. Spread a spoonful of enchilada or taco sauce on top.
- Sprinkle with cheese, diced tomatoes, olives, and green onions.
- Place pizzas on a baking sheet and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Slice and serve immediately.
Notes
- Make it vegetarian by skipping beef and doubling the beans and cheese.
- Use shredded chicken or ground turkey instead of beef for a variation.
- Add jalapeños or spicy taco sauce for heat.
- Top with sour cream, guacamole, or hot sauce after baking.
- For crispier results, assemble and bake pizzas just before serving.
