Description

These Sweet & Savory Sticky Beef Noodles with Garlic Soy Glaze are a takeout-inspired comfort dish featuring tender seared beef, slick noodles, and a rich, glossy sauce. With bold umami flavors and a hint of sweetness and spice, it’s a fast, satisfying dinner that tastes better than delivery.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz rice noodles or egg noodles
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce (optional for color and richness)
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper (optional)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Toss sliced beef with cornstarch in a bowl until evenly coated.
  3. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Sear beef in batches, 1–2 minutes per side, until browned. Transfer to a plate.
  4. Add remaining oil to the pan. Sauté garlic, ginger, and crushed red pepper for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Stir in soy sauce, dark soy sauce, hoisin, oyster sauce, brown sugar, and rice vinegar. Simmer 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Return beef to the pan and toss in the sauce. Add noodles and stir to combine and heat through.
  7. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

  • Swap beef with chicken, shrimp, tofu, or mushrooms.
  • Add veggies like bell peppers, carrots, snap peas, or bok choy.
  • Use tamari and gluten-free sauces for a gluten-free version.
  • Dark soy sauce adds color and depth but is optional.
  • Reheat with a splash of water or broth to loosen sauce.
