Ingredients
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth. Add melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Whisk to combine.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon (if using).
- Gently fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined. Don’t overmix.
- Stir in chocolate chips and pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Sprinkle extra chips on top.
- Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with melted chocolate.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes

- Add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.
- Stir in a spoonful of sour cream or Greek yogurt for extra moisture.
