Description

A warm, gooey, no-fuss dessert made by layering strawberry pie filling, cream cheese, cake mix, and butter—baked into a rich, fruity, cheesecake-like treat.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans (21 oz each) strawberry pie filling
  • 8 oz cream cheese, cubed and softened
  • 1 box yellow or white cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted (or thinly sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread strawberry pie filling evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Dot the cream cheese cubes over the filling.
  4. Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the top without stirring.
  5. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the cake mix, ensuring most of it is moistened.
  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  7. Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm or at room temperature with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Mix cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla for a sweeter cheesecake layer.
  • Use strawberry cake mix for extra berry flavor.
  • Try cherry or strawberry-pineapple combos for variation.
  • Fresh berries work best as a garnish rather than a substitute for pie filling.
