Description

A fresh and slightly gourmet dish combining tender chicken with a sweet, tangy strawberry sauce and fragrant basil for a balanced sweet-savory flavor.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the chicken for 5–6 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked.
  3. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
  5. Add strawberries, balsamic vinegar, honey, and chicken broth. Simmer for a few minutes until strawberries soften and the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and spoon the sauce over it.
  7. Cook for another 2–3 minutes to combine flavors.
  8. Sprinkle fresh basil over the top just before serving.

Notes

  • Add a splash of lemon juice for extra brightness.
  • For a richer sauce, stir in a small knob of butter at the end.
  • Chicken thighs can be used instead of breasts for juicier results.
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes for subtle heat.
  • Fresh basil is recommended for best flavor, but dried can be used if needed.
