Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup cottage cheese (or ricotta)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
- Optional: chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Cook egg noodles according to package directions until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat oil and sauté chopped onion until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned.
- Stir in minced garlic, tomato sauce, salt, pepper, and paprika. Let simmer for a few minutes.
- In a separate bowl, mix sour cream and cottage cheese. Fold in cooked noodles until evenly coated.
- Layer half of the noodle mixture in the baking dish, then half of the beef mixture. Repeat layers.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.
