Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz mushrooms (white or cremini), sliced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 oz cream cheese
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or blend)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 1 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon paprika, parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a casserole dish.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until fragrant.
- Add mushrooms and cook until browned and tender. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook ground beef until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and optional spices. Drain excess fat.
- Return mushrooms to the skillet and stir to combine.
- Reduce heat and stir in cream cheese and heavy cream until smooth and creamy.
- Transfer mixture to casserole dish and top with shredded cheese.
- Bake uncovered 15–20 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
