Sautéed Garlic Mushrooms & Cauliflower is a simple and flavorful side dish featuring tender mushrooms and lightly golden cauliflower infused with fragrant garlic and herbs.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1 small head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- Optional garnish: chopped parsley or grated Parmesan
Instructions
- Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add cauliflower florets and cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften and lightly brown.
- Add sliced mushrooms and cook another 6–8 minutes until they release moisture and become tender.
- Stir in minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Sprinkle in dried thyme, salt, and black pepper, stirring to combine.
- Cook a few more minutes until vegetables are tender and slightly golden.
- Drizzle with lemon juice and toss gently.
- Garnish as desired before serving.
Notes
- Add sliced onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
- Sprinkle red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
- Allow vegetables to cook undisturbed briefly for deeper caramelization.
- Finish with a splash of balsamic vinegar for added richness.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
- Freezing is not recommended as texture may soften.
