Description

Sautéed Garlic Mushrooms & Cauliflower is a simple and flavorful side dish featuring tender mushrooms and lightly golden cauliflower infused with fragrant garlic and herbs.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 small head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Optional garnish: chopped parsley or grated Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil or butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add cauliflower florets and cook 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften and lightly brown.
  3. Add sliced mushrooms and cook another 6–8 minutes until they release moisture and become tender.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Sprinkle in dried thyme, salt, and black pepper, stirring to combine.
  6. Cook a few more minutes until vegetables are tender and slightly golden.
  7. Drizzle with lemon juice and toss gently.
  8. Garnish as desired before serving.

Notes

  • Add sliced onions or bell peppers for extra flavor.
  • Sprinkle red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
  • Allow vegetables to cook undisturbed briefly for deeper caramelization.
  • Finish with a splash of balsamic vinegar for added richness.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freezing is not recommended as texture may soften.
