Description

Pioneer Woman Cheeseburger Pie is a savory, satisfying dish that combines the flavors of a classic cheeseburger in a sliceable pie form, complete with seasoned beef, melty cheese, and a golden crust. Perfect for weeknight dinners or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Pre-made or homemade pie crust (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown ground beef and chopped onion with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Spread mixture in a greased 9-inch pie dish.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, and baking powder until smooth.
  5. Pour batter over beef and top evenly with shredded cheddar cheese.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until top is golden and center is set.
  7. Let cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Add bacon bits or pickles to the beef for extra flavor.
  • Top with lettuce and tomato after baking for a burger-in-a-slice effect.
  • Can be prepared ahead and baked just before serving.
  • Freeze after baking and reheat in the oven when ready.
