Description

Peanut butter Rice Krispie Treats with M&M’s and chocolate chips are classic no-bake bars that are chewy, sweet, salty, and bursting with peanut butter richness, melty chocolate, and colorful candy crunch—a perfect treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup mini M&M’s
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13‑inch pan with parchment or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large pot over low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Fold in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
  5. Allow mixture to cool slightly (just warm), then gently fold in half of the M&M’s and mini chocolate chips.
  6. Press mixture into the prepared pan using a greased spatula or wax paper to flatten evenly.
  7. Sprinkle remaining M&M’s and chocolate chips on top and press lightly to set.
  8. Let cool completely at room temperature before slicing into 20–24 squares.

Notes

  • Use crunchy peanut butter for extra texture, or drizzle melted chocolate on top after setting.
  • Mix in pretzel pieces or chopped peanuts for added saltiness.
  • Seasonal M&M’s (e.g., holiday colors) make these festive for celebrations.
  • Avoid overcooking marshmallows—they should be melted, not browned, to keep the bars chewy.
