Description
Peanut butter Rice Krispie Treats with M&M’s and chocolate chips are classic no-bake bars that are chewy, sweet, salty, and bursting with peanut butter richness, melty chocolate, and colorful candy crunch—a perfect treat for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 4 cups mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup mini M&M’s
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a 9×13‑inch pan with parchment or lightly grease it.
- In a large pot over low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir until fully melted and smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla extract until combined.
- Fold in Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated with the marshmallow mixture.
- Allow mixture to cool slightly (just warm), then gently fold in half of the M&M’s and mini chocolate chips.
- Press mixture into the prepared pan using a greased spatula or wax paper to flatten evenly.
- Sprinkle remaining M&M’s and chocolate chips on top and press lightly to set.
- Let cool completely at room temperature before slicing into 20–24 squares.
Notes
- Use crunchy peanut butter for extra texture, or drizzle melted chocolate on top after setting.
- Mix in pretzel pieces or chopped peanuts for added saltiness.
- Seasonal M&M’s (e.g., holiday colors) make these festive for celebrations.
- Avoid overcooking marshmallows—they should be melted, not browned, to keep the bars chewy.
