One-Pan Cheesy Meat & Potato Skillet is a hearty, comforting meal made with seasoned ground beef, golden potatoes, and melty cheese—all cooked together in one pan for a quick and satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, diced
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or cheese blend)
- 2 tbsp olive oil or butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Optional: 1 bell pepper, chopped
- Optional: chopped green onions, sour cream, or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add diced potatoes and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and mostly tender.
- Push potatoes to one side. Add ground beef and chopped onion. Cook until beef is browned and fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Stir in minced garlic and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
- Mix potatoes and beef together evenly in the skillet. Reduce heat to low.
- Sprinkle shredded cheese over the top. Cover the skillet and let it sit for a few minutes until cheese is melted and gooey.
- Garnish with parsley or green onions. Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream if desired.
