Description

One-Pan Cheeseburger Pie Dinner is a cozy, family-friendly comfort dish that turns classic cheeseburger flavors into a baked skillet meal. Seasoned ground beef, melty cheddar, and a fluffy biscuit-style topping come together in one pan for an easy, satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup Bisquick or biscuit baking mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • Sliced pickles or diced tomatoes, for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef.
  3. Add chopped onion and garlic and cook until softened.
  4. Drain excess fat, then stir in ketchup, mustard (if using), salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together Bisquick, milk, and eggs until smooth.
  7. Pour the batter evenly over the beef and cheese layer.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and set.
  9. Cool slightly and garnish with pickles or tomatoes if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Use an oven-safe skillet such as cast iron.
  • Swap ground beef for ground turkey for a lighter version.
  • Try pepper jack or mozzarella for a cheese variation.
  • Add mushrooms, bell peppers, or jalapeños to the beef for extra flavor.
  • Not freezer-friendly due to the biscuit topping.
