Description

A cozy, old-fashioned oatmeal pudding baked to creamy perfection with warm spices, brown sugar, and hearty oats—simple, nostalgic, and comforting.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins or chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Heat milk and butter in a saucepan over medium heat until butter melts.
  3. Whisk eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and vanilla in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Slowly pour warm milk into the egg mixture while whisking continuously.
  5. Stir in oats and optional raisins or nuts, then pour into the prepared dish.
  6. Bake for 45–50 minutes or until set and golden on top.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving warm, or chill for a firmer texture.

Notes

  • Maple syrup or honey can replace brown sugar for a different flavor.
  • Add chopped apples, mashed banana, or chocolate chips for variation.
  • Use almond or oat milk for a dairy-free version.
  • Serve warm with cream or cold for a firmer pudding.
