Mississippi Lil Smokies are tangy, savory cocktail sausages slow-cooked in butter, ranch seasoning, au jus mix, and pepperoncini for an addictive appetizer full of bold flavor. Perfect for game days, parties, or potlucks, they’re easy, hands-off, and always a crowd favorite.
Ingredients
- 2 packages lil smokies (cocktail sausages)
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into chunks
- 6–8 pepperoncini peppers, sliced
- 2 tbsp juice from the pepperoncini jar
- Optional: ½ tsp garlic powder
- Optional: black pepper, to taste
- Optional: chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Add lil smokies to a slow cooker.
- Sprinkle ranch seasoning and au jus mix evenly over the sausages.
- Add sliced pepperoncini and a splash of the brine.
- Top with chunks of butter.
- Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours or high for 1–1.5 hours, until sausages are heated through and sauce is blended.
- Stir gently before serving and garnish with parsley if desired.
Notes
- Great for serving straight from the slow cooker on ‘keep warm’ mode during parties.
- Adjust spice level by adding more or fewer pepperoncini.
- Can be served on toothpicks, buns, or over rice for a meal.
