Description

Mississippi Lil Smokies are tangy, savory cocktail sausages slow-cooked in butter, ranch seasoning, au jus mix, and pepperoncini for an addictive appetizer full of bold flavor. Perfect for game days, parties, or potlucks, they’re easy, hands-off, and always a crowd favorite.


Ingredients

  • 2 packages lil smokies (cocktail sausages)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into chunks
  • 68 pepperoncini peppers, sliced
  • 2 tbsp juice from the pepperoncini jar
  • Optional: ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Optional: black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: chopped parsley, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add lil smokies to a slow cooker.
  2. Sprinkle ranch seasoning and au jus mix evenly over the sausages.
  3. Add sliced pepperoncini and a splash of the brine.
  4. Top with chunks of butter.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 2–3 hours or high for 1–1.5 hours, until sausages are heated through and sauce is blended.
  6. Stir gently before serving and garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Great for serving straight from the slow cooker on ‘keep warm’ mode during parties.
  • Adjust spice level by adding more or fewer pepperoncini.
  • Can be served on toothpicks, buns, or over rice for a meal.
  • Recipe doubles easily for a crowd.
