Description
Melted Jack O’ Lantern Brownies are fudgy chocolate treats topped with gooey marshmallows and decorated to look like melting jack-o’-lanterns. Easy, festive, and fun to make, they’re a perfect Halloween dessert for parties or spooky nights in.
Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix (or homemade brownie batter)
- 12 large marshmallows
- 1 cup orange candy melts or orange-tinted frosting
- Black gel icing or edible marker
- Candy eyes (optional)
- Nonstick spray or parchment paper
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare brownie mix according to box or recipe instructions. Bake in a greased or parchment-lined square or rectangular pan.
- Cool brownies slightly, then cut into 12 squares.
- Place a large marshmallow in the center of each brownie square.
- Return brownies to the oven for 2–3 minutes, just until marshmallows puff and begin to droop. Watch carefully.
- Remove from oven and gently press marshmallows to flatten slightly. Let cool completely.
- Melt orange candy melts and spoon or pipe over the marshmallows to resemble pumpkin skin. Let set.
- Use black gel icing or edible markers to draw jack-o’-lantern faces. Add candy eyes if desired.
Notes
- Use store-bought brownies to save time—just decorate as directed.
- Substitute orange-tinted white chocolate or orange frosting for candy melts.
- Add pumpkin puree and spices to brownie batter for a fall flavor twist.
- Mini brownies and mini marshmallows work great for bite-sized versions.
- Store decorated brownies in a single layer to prevent smudging.
