Description

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Optional: 1 tbsp brewed coffee

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf or bundt pan.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk, mixing just until combined.
  6. Divide batter in half. Stir cocoa powder (and coffee, if using) into one half.
  7. Spoon batters alternately into the pan, then swirl with a knife for a marbled effect.
  8. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Add espresso powder for deeper chocolate flavor or almond extract for a nutty twist.
  • Top with glaze or powdered sugar for extra flair.
