Description
Juicy chicken pan-seared in lemony garlic butter served with silky linguine tossed in a creamy Parmesan sauce—an elegant yet comforting dinner.
Ingredients
- For the chicken: 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (for coating), 2 tbsp olive oil, 4 tbsp unsalted butter (divided), 3 cloves fresh garlic (minced), 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice, 1 tsp lemon zest, 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
- For the creamy Parmesan linguine: 12 oz linguine pasta, 2 tbsp unsalted butter, 2 cloves fresh garlic (minced), 1 cup heavy cream, 1/2 cup chicken broth, 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, extra parsley or basil for garnish
Instructions
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Lightly coat with flour.
- Heat olive oil and 2 tbsp butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear chicken 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through (internal temp 165°F / 74°C). Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt remaining 2 tbsp butter. Add minced garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Stir in lemon juice and zest, scraping up browned bits. Return chicken to skillet and spoon sauce over it.
- Cook linguine according to package directions until al dente. Drain.
- In a separate saucepan, melt butter and sauté garlic for 1 minute.
- Add heavy cream and chicken broth, bringing to a gentle simmer.
- Whisk in Parmesan until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper.
- Toss linguine in the sauce until coated.
- Serve chicken over or alongside pasta, spooning extra lemon garlic butter over the top. Garnish with parsley.

- Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes to pasta for extra flavor.
- Swap linguine for fettuccine or spaghetti as preferred.
- Use half-and-half instead of heavy cream for a lighter sauce.
