Ingredients
- 4 large potatoes
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef or sausage
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups tomato sauce or marinara
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Bake the potatoes for 45–60 minutes until tender.
- While the potatoes bake, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the ground beef or sausage with onion and garlic until browned.
- Stir in tomato sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let simmer for 10–15 minutes.
- Once the potatoes are cooked, slice them open and fluff the insides with a fork.
- Add a spoonful of ricotta cheese into each potato.
- Top with the meat sauce, then sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan cheese over the top.
- Return the potatoes to the oven and bake for about 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

- Use sweet potatoes for a slightly sweeter variation.
- Substitute meat with sautéed vegetables for a vegetarian version.
- Add béchamel sauce for extra richness.
