Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup soy sauce (or low-sodium)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- 3 green onions, sliced
- Cooked white or brown rice, for serving
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook, breaking it apart, until fully browned.
- Drain excess fat if necessary.
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce over the beef and stir to coat evenly.
- Simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the beef.
- Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions.
- Serve hot over cooked rice and garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
