Ingredients
- 3 overripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup honey
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup melted butter or oil
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Optional: 1 tsp cinnamon
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts or chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease or line a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
- Whisk in honey, eggs, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla until combined.
- Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until just incorporated. Do not overmix.
- Fold in optional cinnamon, nuts, or chocolate chips if using.
- Pour batter into loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and natural sweetness.
- Add cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth.
- Swap in whole wheat flour for a nuttier flavor.
