Description

Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sliders with Candied Jalapeños are crispy, juicy mini sandwiches bursting with flavor. Spicy-sweet hot honey, crunchy fried chicken, and tangy candied jalapeños come together in soft slider buns for a bold, irresistible bite.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into slider-sized pieces
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce (optional)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
  • 45 fresh jalapeños, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 810 slider buns
  • 2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
  • Optional: pickles, coleslaw, or mayo

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in buttermilk and hot sauce for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. In a saucepan, combine sliced jalapeños, sugar, vinegar, water, garlic powder, and salt. Simmer 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened. Let cool.
  3. In another saucepan, warm honey with red pepper flakes and vinegar. Keep warm.
  4. Mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Dredge marinated chicken in mixture, pressing to coat.
  5. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry chicken pieces 4–6 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Drain on a rack or paper towels.
  6. Butter and toast slider buns in a skillet until golden.
  7. Assemble sliders: place chicken on buns, drizzle with hot honey, top with candied jalapeños and other toppings. Serve immediately.
