Description

Honey Sesame Chicken & Broccoli is a quick, sweet-and-savory stir-fry featuring tender chicken, crisp broccoli, and a glossy honey-soy glaze, topped with sesame seeds for a flavorful, takeout-style meal made at home.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil (for cooking)
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Steam or blanch broccoli for 2–3 minutes until crisp-tender, then set aside.
  2. Whisk soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, cornstarch, and water in a bowl to make the sauce.
  3. Heat oil in a skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes until golden and fully cooked.
  4. Pour sauce into the skillet and stir until it thickens and becomes glossy, about 2–3 minutes.
  5. Add broccoli to the pan and toss everything to coat evenly in the sauce.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

  • Add bell peppers or snap peas for extra vegetables.
  • Use tofu instead of chicken for a vegetarian version.
