Description

Honey Pineapple Salmon is a sweet and savory tropical dish featuring salmon fillets glazed with a sticky honey-pineapple sauce. Baked, pan-seared, or grilled, this recipe delivers a balance of caramelized sweetness, citrus brightness, and savory depth—perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
  • 1 cup fresh or canned pineapple chunks (plus ½ cup pineapple juice)
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped green onions, sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F or heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine pineapple juice, honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Simmer 4–5 minutes until slightly thickened into a glaze.
  3. Season salmon with salt and pepper. In a skillet, sear salmon skin-side down in oil for 2–3 minutes to crisp the edges.
  4. Brush salmon with glaze. Transfer to oven (or reduce skillet heat) and cook 10–12 minutes, basting with more glaze as it cooks.
  5. Serve hot, topped with pineapple chunks, green onions, or sesame seeds.

Notes

  • Add lime juice for extra citrusy brightness.
  • Sprinkle chili flakes into the glaze for a spicy kick.
  • Grill the salmon for a smoky, charred flavor.
  • Serve with coconut rice and grilled pineapple for a tropical-style meal.
