Description

Homemade Lemonade is a classic, refreshing drink made with fresh lemon juice, sugar, and water. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and tangy—ideal for sunny days, parties, or just a thirst-quenching treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice (about 46 lemons)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup hot water (for dissolving sugar)
  • 45 cups cold water (to dilute)
  • Ice (for serving)
  • Lemon slices and fresh mint (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Juice the lemons until you have 1 cup of fresh lemon juice.
  2. In a small bowl or measuring cup, stir the sugar into the hot water until fully dissolved to create a simple syrup.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and simple syrup.
  4. Add 4–5 cups of cold water and stir well.
  5. Taste and adjust with more sugar or water as needed.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices or mint if desired.

Notes

  • Add crushed berries like strawberries or raspberries for a fruity variation.
  • Use sparkling water for a fizzy twist.
  • Infuse the syrup with herbs like basil or lavender for added flavor.
  • Swap granulated sugar with honey or agave for a natural sweetener.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 5 days; stir before serving.
