Description

Heart-Shaped Chocolate Chip Cookies are a fun and festive twist on a classic treat. Made with soft, chewy cookie dough packed with chocolate chips and cut into adorable heart shapes, they’re perfect for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, or just spreading a little love.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips or chunks
  • Optional: sprinkles, melted chocolate for drizzling, heart-shaped cookie cutter

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet mixture.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  6. Roll out dough to 1/2 inch thickness on a floured surface. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  7. Place cookies on prepared baking sheets and bake for 8–10 minutes, or until edges are just golden.
  8. Let cookies cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Decorate as desired.

Notes

  • Chilling the dough helps cookies hold their shape during baking.
  • Use mini or white chocolate chips, or add candy-coated chocolates for variation.
  • Dip cooled cookies in melted chocolate and add sprinkles for extra flair.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container with a slice of bread to keep them soft.
