Description
This Grilled Peanut Butter Banana Sandwich is a warm, gooey, sweet snack made with creamy peanut butter, ripe banana slices, and buttery grilled bread. Perfectly crisp outside and melty inside, it’s comfort food at its simplest.
Ingredients
- 2 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or preferred type)
- 2 tbsp creamy or chunky peanut butter
- 1 ripe banana, sliced
- 1 tbsp butter or coconut oil for grilling
- Optional: 1 tsp honey or chocolate spread
Instructions
- Spread peanut butter on one side of each bread slice.
- Arrange banana slices over the peanut butter on one slice.
- Optional: Drizzle honey or spread chocolate over the bananas.
- Top with the second slice, peanut butter side down.
- Heat a skillet over medium-low and melt some butter or coconut oil.
- Place the sandwich in the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until golden.
- Flip and grill the other side for 2–3 minutes until both sides are golden and filling is warm.
- Remove from skillet, let cool for 1 minute, slice in half, and serve.
Notes
- Use a ripe, firm banana for the best texture and sweetness.
- Try almond or cashew butter as a variation.
- Avoid microwaving leftovers to preserve the crisp texture.
- Double the recipe easily for more servings.
- Use coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free option.
