Golden, flaky puff pastry twists filled with sweet berry jam and finished with a light vanilla glaze, creating an elegant yet easy dessert.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1/3 cup mixed berry jam or preserves
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- For the glaze:
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1–2 tbsp milk or lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lightly roll out the puff pastry and spread a thin layer of berry jam over half of the sheet.
- Fold the other half over the jam to form a layered rectangle.
- Cut the pastry into strips (about 1 inch wide) and gently twist each strip into a spiral.
- Place twists on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between them.
- Brush each twist with beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then whisk together glaze ingredients and drizzle over the twists before serving.
Notes
- Keep puff pastry cold for best flaky results.
- Use any jam flavor like raspberry, blueberry, or strawberry.
- Add a thin layer of cream cheese under the jam for a richer taste.
- Sprinkle cinnamon sugar on top before baking for extra flavor.
- Freeze unbaked twists and bake directly from frozen when needed.
