Description

A warm and elegant appetizer featuring a melty wheel of Brie topped with sweet caramelized apples and fragrant thyme, perfectly balancing creamy, sweet, and savory flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz) Brie cheese wheel
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the Brie wheel in a small baking dish or oven-safe skillet.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  4. Add the sliced apples and cook until softened and lightly caramelized.
  5. Stir in the brown sugar or honey, thyme leaves, salt, and black pepper. Cook until glossy and fragrant.
  6. Spoon the warm apple mixture over the Brie.
  7. Bake for 15–20 minutes, until the Brie is soft and melty in the center.
  8. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Leaving the rind on helps the Brie hold its shape.
  • Firm apples like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith work best.
  • Caramelized apples can be made ahead of time.
  • Serve with crackers, sliced bread, or fresh fruit.
