Description

Garlic herb & spinach puff pastry rolls are flaky, golden spirals filled with cheesy spinach and aromatic herbs. Perfect as a savory snack or elegant appetizer, they’re quick to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (or 1 cup frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 3 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan or shredded mozzarella
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs (thyme, parsley, oregano)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil or butter and sauté garlic until fragrant. Add spinach and cook until wilted (or heated through if using frozen). Season with salt, pepper, and herbs.
  3. Let cool slightly, then stir in cream cheese and parmesan until combined.
  4. Unfold puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and roll slightly to smooth seams.
  5. Spread spinach mixture evenly over pastry, leaving a small border.
  6. Roll pastry into a log from the long side and slice into 1-inch rolls.
  7. Place rolls cut-side up on the baking sheet. Brush tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until golden and puffed. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Add feta or goat cheese for a tangy variation.
  • Try kale or chard instead of spinach for variety.
  • Store in fridge for 3 days; reheat in oven for best texture.
  • Unbaked rolls can be frozen and baked from frozen with a few extra minutes.
