Description

These garlic butter baked scallops are tender, buttery, and topped with a golden breadcrumb-Parmesan crust. A quick and elegant seafood dish perfect for special dinners or weeknight indulgence.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb sea scallops (cleaned and patted dry)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Mix melted butter with minced garlic in a small bowl.
  3. In another bowl, combine breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Arrange scallops in the baking dish. Drizzle with garlic butter, then top evenly with breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until scallops are opaque and topping is golden brown.
  6. Serve immediately with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Notes

  • Add fresh parsley or thyme to breadcrumbs for extra flavor.
  • Mix in red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
  • Swap half the breadcrumbs for panko for a crunchier topping.
  • Best enjoyed fresh, but leftovers can be stored and gently reheated.
  • Use gluten-free breadcrumbs to make it gluten-free.
