Description

Funnel Cake Bites are a bite-sized version of the classic fairground favorite. Crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and dusted with powdered sugar, they’re quick to make and perfect for snacking or dipping.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • Optional: cinnamon sugar, chocolate sauce, or fruit preserves for dipping

Instructions

  1. Heat 2 inches of oil in a heavy pot or skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs, then stir in milk and vanilla.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients into a smooth, scoopable batter.
  5. Using a small scoop or spoon, drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil. Do not overcrowd.
  6. Fry 1–2 minutes per side until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Remove with slotted spoon, drain on paper towels.
  8. Dust with powdered sugar or toss in cinnamon sugar. Serve warm with optional dips.

Notes

  • Best served fresh, but can be reheated in oven or air fryer.
  • Add cinnamon or nutmeg to batter for extra flavor.
  • Serve with strawberry jam, lemon curd, or apple compote for a fruity twist.
  • For indulgence, drizzle with caramel or chocolate sauce.
