Description

Fried Shrimps are crispy, golden, and full of flavor—perfect as an appetizer, main dish, or addition to tacos and salads. Lightly seasoned and breaded, they fry up in minutes for an irresistible seafood treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (tail on or off)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs or panko
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Pat shrimp dry and season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  2. Prepare three bowls: one with flour and cornstarch, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs or panko.
  3. Dredge shrimp in flour mixture, dip in egg, then coat with breadcrumbs, pressing lightly to adhere.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  5. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Serve hot with dipping sauces and lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Mix in coconut flakes for a tropical version.
  • Add cayenne or hot sauce to egg for heat.
  • Use rice flour and gluten-free breadcrumbs for gluten-free option.
  • Buttermilk can replace eggs for tangy flavor.
  • Toss in buffalo or honey garlic sauce for variation.
