Ingredients
- 4 boneless chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
- 1 cup chopped romaine lettuce
- 1/2 cup Caesar dressing
- 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan cheese
- 4 brioche or sandwich buns
- Optional: lemon juice, anchovy paste, crushed croutons, sliced tomatoes, avocado, or hot sauce
Instructions
- Marinate chicken in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
- In a shallow bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Heat oil in a deep skillet to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove chicken from marinade and dredge in seasoned flour, pressing to coat well.
- Fry chicken in hot oil for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer to a rack to rest.
- Lightly toast buns and spread Caesar dressing on both the top and bottom halves.
- Assemble sandwiches with romaine, fried chicken, shaved Parmesan, and additional dressing or optional toppings.
- Serve hot and enjoy immediately.
