Description

A bold, Cajun-style seafood boil with shrimp, crab, mussels, sausage, corn, and potatoes all tossed in a buttery garlic-Cajun sauce—perfect for a celebratory and hands-on meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp (shell-on or peeled)
  • 12 lb snow crab legs or king crab pieces
  • 1 lb mussels or clams (optional)
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 4 ears corn, halved
  • 1 lb baby potatoes
  • ½ cup butter
  • 46 cloves garlic, minced
  • 23 Tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 tsp Old Bay seasoning (optional)
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until just tender (8–10 min); add corn and cook 3–5 min more. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet or saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté garlic until fragrant (1–2 min).
  3. Stir in Cajun seasoning, Old Bay, lemon juice, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add shrimp, crab, mussels, sausage, potatoes, and corn. Toss to coat well in the sauce.
  5. Cover and steam until mussels open and shrimp turn pink (5–7 min), or transfer to a 400 °F oven and bake 10–12 min until heated through.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges and crusty bread.

Notes

  • Frozen seafood works—thaw completely before cooking.
  • Adjust spice: add cayenne or hot sauce for heat, or reduce seasoning to mellow it out.
  • Customize with crawfish, scallops, or lobster tails.
  • Prep ahead by cutting veggies and slicing sausage, then cook just before serving.
