Description

These Fresh Peach Fritters are golden and crispy on the outside, with a juicy, peach-filled interior. Lightly dusted with sugar or drizzled with glaze, they make an irresistible treat for breakfast or snacking.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup warm milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Confectioners’ sugar or glaze (powdered sugar + milk) for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, mix warm milk, beaten egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped peaches.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil, giving them space to expand.
  7. Fry fritters for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  8. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined tray.
  9. While warm, dust with confectioners’ sugar or drizzle with glaze.

Notes

  • Use slightly firm ripe peaches for the best texture.
  • Do not overmix the batter once peaches are added.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain oil at 350°F for best results.
  • Fritters are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven.
  • Avoid refrigerating as it softens the crispy exterior.
