Description

These deep fried strawberry cheesecake wonton bites are crispy, creamy, and fruity dessert treats. With a crunchy wonton shell and a luscious strawberry cheesecake filling, they’re an irresistible bite-sized indulgence perfect for parties or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped (or 1/4 cup strawberry preserves)
  • 2024 wonton wrappers
  • 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Optional: powdered sugar for dusting
  • Optional: chocolate or strawberry sauce for dipping

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep skillet or pan over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. Gently fold in chopped strawberries or use a small amount of strawberry preserves.
  4. Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  5. Brush edges with beaten egg, then fold into triangles or gather corners and seal tightly.
  6. Ensure all edges are sealed well to prevent leaks during frying.
  7. Fry wontons in batches for 2–3 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp.
  8. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm with dipping sauce if desired.

Notes

  • Thaw and drain frozen strawberries well to avoid watery filling.
  • Don’t overfill wrappers—this prevents bursting during frying.
  • Try baking at 375°F for 12–15 minutes as a lighter option.
  • Customize with other fruits like raspberries or peaches.
  • Drizzle with melted chocolate or serve with whipped cream for extra flair.
