Description

Croissant Smash Burgers are a next-level twist on the classic burger, featuring juicy, crispy-edged smash patties tucked inside buttery, flaky toasted croissants. They’re rich, flavorful, and fast to make—perfect for an indulgent lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 croissants, halved and lightly toasted
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 cheese slices (American, cheddar, or Swiss)
  • Pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion (optional toppings)
  • 4 tbsp burger sauce or mayo
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil (for toasting croissants)

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat until very hot.
  2. Form ground beef into 4 loose balls (about 4 oz each). Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Toast croissant halves cut-side down in a pan with butter or oil until golden. Set aside.
  4. Place beef balls on the hot skillet and smash them flat with a spatula. Cook 2–3 minutes until edges are crisp.
  5. Flip burgers, top with cheese, and cook another 1–2 minutes until cheese is melted.
  6. Assemble burgers: spread sauce on croissant halves, then add patty and desired toppings.
  7. Top with remaining croissant halves, press gently, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use spicy cheese and jalapeños for a heat-packed burger.
  • Make double patties for extra meat and richness.
  • Add caramelized onions or mushrooms for gourmet flavor.
  • Spread garlic butter on croissants before toasting for more flavor.
  • Swap in turkey, chicken, or plant-based patties if desired.
