Description
Crispy Deep‑Fried Cheesecake Bites feature creamy, luscious cheesecake filling encased in a golden, crunchy shell—perfect for an indulgent, bite‑sized dessert treat.
Ingredients
- For the cheesecake filling:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup heavy cream (or milk)
- For the coating:
- 1 package egg roll wrappers or wonton wrappers
- 1 cup all‑purpose flour (for dredging)
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (optional for extra crunch)
- For frying:
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
- For serving:
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
- Chocolate sauce or caramel sauce (optional, for dipping)
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Gradually mix in heavy cream until creamy and spreadable.
- Cut wrappers into ~4″ squares. Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each wrapper.
- Fold edges over the filling to seal each packet. Moisten edges with water to secure and prevent leaks.
- Set up three stations: flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs (if using). Dip each packet in flour, then egg wash, then breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Fry bites in batches for 2–3 minutes, turning until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Once cool enough, dust with powdered sugar. Serve with chocolate or caramel sauce if desired.
Notes
- Add lemon zest, cocoa powder, or fruit puree to the filling for flavor variations.
- Include diced berries in the filling for a fruity twist.
- For a no‑fry option, bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes, brushing with melted butter.
- You can freeze assembled bites for up to one month; fry directly from frozen (add 1–2 minutes cooking time).
