Description
Crispy breaded chicken layered with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella inside soft slider buns. These Chicken Parmesan Sliders are a fun, crowd-pleasing twist on the classic Italian favorite.
Ingredients
- 12 slider buns
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced into slider-sized pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (divided)
- 1/4 cup olive oil (for cooking)
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- Season sliced chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Set up breading station: flour in one bowl, beaten eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with 1/4 cup Parmesan in a third.
- Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg, then coat thoroughly in breadcrumb mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken until golden brown and cooked through on both sides. Drain on paper towels.
- Slice slider buns horizontally and place bottom halves in baking dish.
- Layer each bun with crispy chicken, a spoonful of marinara, and shredded mozzarella.
- Place top halves on buns. Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle remaining Parmesan.
- Bake 10–15 minutes until cheese melts and tops are lightly golden.
- Garnish with chopped fresh basil and serve warm.
Notes
- Bake breaded chicken at 400°F (200°C) for 18–20 minutes for a lighter option.
- Use thick marinara to prevent soggy buns.
- Add provolone for extra cheesiness.
- Assemble ahead and refrigerate before baking.
- Reheat in oven to maintain crispiness.
